About Amy

Amy began her harp studies on a lever harp at the age of 10, transitioning to a pedal harp a year later. In May of 2026, she completed a B.M. in Harp Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with Elzbieta Szmyt, Chair of the IU Harp Department. During her time at IU, Amy was principal harpist for the Jacobs School of Music Wind Ensemble and performed with the IU Philharmonic, Concert, Symphony, University and Chamber Orchestras. Amy is very grateful and honored to be the recipient of the Premier Young Artist Award, which made it possible for her to pursue her dream of studying with Professor Szmyt.

Amy was a member of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra for 5 years and was principal harpist for the last 2 of those years. She was also the principal harpist with the University of Tennessee Symphony Orchestra and the University of Tennessee Chamber Orchestra for the 2021-2022 academic year. Amy has played with the UT Wind Ensemble, Appalachia: A Southeastern Wind Symphony, the Scruffy City Orchestra, and the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, including performances of The Nutcracker. She was invited to the ETSBOA All State East Senior Clinic, the TMEA All State Orchestra, and was an orchestra member for the WordPlayers' 2021 production of The Fantasticks. In 2021, she made a few studio recordings as part of the album In This Weary Land by Emily McCoy. As a solo performer, Amy has played at dozens of venues across Tennessee and southern Indiana.

Amy is passionate about the harp and loves to share her enthusiasm with others, be that through teaching or performing. Amy works hard to prepare for each event or performance, and she would love to help create a beautiful atmosphere for your special occasion. When she is not playing harp, Amy loves spending time with her husband, Brian, and her 2 children.
